Hamilton, Rose lead Bulls past Knicks

Rip Hamilton scored 18 of his game-high 20 points in the 3rd quarter, and the Bulls rode a 25-10 2nd quarter advantage to a 98-86 win over the Knicks in the UC on Tuesday.

Hamilton his 6 of 10 shots (including a 3) and 5 of 7 from the line as he single-handedly kept the Bulls halftime lead intact in the 3rd. Rip had 6 of the Bulls 9 made shots in the quarter and 18 of their 25 points.

Kyle Korver had a big all-around game off the bench with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks in 23 minutes of action. Luol Deng had 19 points, and his team-high 10 boards helped lead the Bulls to a 51-33 rebounding edge. CJ Watson struggled from the field (4/12) but contributed a game-high 7 assists.

Melo led the Knicks with 29 points, while Tyson Chandler added 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. JR Smith added 14 off the bench.

Bulls Blow Out Pistons 92-68

The Bulls played only their third home game (out of 10 total) of the season Monday night when they hosted the Pistons. After dominating Detroit, the Bulls have now given up a total of 206 points in those three games, an unheard 68.7 points per game.

Yes, Detroit came to the UC with the 29th ranked offense in the league, but Memphis was a playoff team last year and the Hawks have been a top-5 team so far this season.

Still, winning your three home games by an average of 22.7 points is downright scary in the NBA.

Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 23 points (on 9/13 shooting) and 8 rebounds, while Derrick Rose was right behind with 22 and 8 assists. Joakim Noah didn't attempt a shot from the field, but he contributed 8 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots in just over 25 minutes.

Ronnie Brewer had a nice night with 12 points on 6/9 shooting, and while Luol Deng struggled with his shot (2/12), he did his usual outstanding job on defense, holding Tayshaun Prince to six points on 3/8 shooting in the 22:34 that Deng guarded him.

Kyle Korver's three-point shot looked good again- he hit 2/5 and is now shooting 50% for the season from behind the arc on 3.6 attempts per game.

There's not really much to be said about the game- even though the Bulls didn't blow Detroit out until the 4th quarter, the Pistons never led and the game was last tied at 4-4. It was just an easy win for a team that should have won the game easily.

The starters got plenty of rest, only Rose (32:42) and Deng (33:48) played more than 30 minutes.

Which is good, I'm not one to worry a whole lot about minutes but the Bulls still have a back-to-back after tonight. They'll be in Minnesota (3-6) tonight before heading home to play the winless (0-8) Wizards on Wednesday.
